Course Description
This course introduces students to the majors in Japanese Language and Culture, Spanish or World Language and Cultures. Students acquire knowledge and understanding needed to fulfill Major Learning Outcomes for the programs. Students identify and work with a major advisor to develop individual learning plans. The course examines opportunities in related professional and career paths, including graduate education and teaching credential preparation.

Course Narrative
This course covered all the Major Learning outcomes and redefined each one in great detail. In this class, both Japanese and Spanish majors worked together, but taught by the head of each department. Some of the important tasks that we were asked to complete were to create a Individual Learning Plan (ILP), a professional resume and lastly a personal statement.
Here on this e-portfolio you will find my ILP, which shows the list of courses that I needed to complete throughout my studies at CSUMB in order to fulfill my Spanish degree. This ILP was reviewed by my academic advisor, who guided me into taking the correct courses. Also, you will find a professional reseume which reflects my work experience, volunteer work, skill sets and academic achievements. Lastly, I developed a statement of purpose, in which I wrote about who I am, my obstacles throughout my life, and my future career an educational goals. I also list the reasons for being part of the Spanish major and explain what I expect to achieve by completing this major.
